Hives

Beehives made using ancient techniques. The wooden masks are inspired by 18th century German Bannkörbe hives and the bodies are woven using the same method used to make skeps (which have been around since the middle ages). Stood on six insect-like legs, these human-insect hybrids have an otherworldly presence (2025).
